But Elements still doesn't come with a useful manual. This bestselling book helps you get the most out of the program, from the basics to advanced tips for both Windows and Mac users.

The important stuff you need to know:

  • Quickly learn your way around. Customize Elements to suit your working style.
  • Get to work right away. Import, organize, and make quick image fixes with ease.
  • Retouch any image. Learn how to repair and restore old and damaged photos.
  • Add pizzazz. Give images more zip with dozens of filters, layer styles, and special effects.
  • Design with words. Make text flow along a curved path or around an object or shape.
  • Find your creative flair. Create scrapbooks, greeting cards, photo books, and more.
  • Try out advanced techniques. Work with layers, blend modes, and other tools.

Comments about oreilly Photoshop Elements 10: The Missing Manual:

You don't get far with Photoshop Elements unless you know what you are doing, and this book is the way to learn how to do it.I hated school and can't stand classrooms so I am teaching myself Elements. It has been hard work, but by reading and re-reading bits of this book and with lots of practise I have finally got my head around two very important aspects of photo editing....Selections and Layers.
A big heavy paperback, it's written in an easy style, and the index works.Cross referencing to other parts of the book are very good.
Elements is an extremly complex programme. You probably won't use half of what it can do, but it's great to know that this "Bible" says it all.
Don't be daunted by all the complexity. There are a dozen ways to do most things, and Barbara explains them all. You will soon find your own particular way.

Comments about oreilly Photoshop Elements 10: The Missing Manual:

I first became familiar with this book when I owned Photoshop elements 6 and 10 is by the same author. Photoshop elements, any version, is not the kind of program that one just would install and use. The same person that wrote the "missing manual" for elements 6, wrote it for 10. If one cannot understand this book; then you are not trying--even as college graduate, because some material is new to me and this program has changed; I READ AND RE-READ several times until I get it right--but I do get it right--much much easier to use than ADOBE Photoshop elements "classroom in a book." I highly recommend it-make up your mind that you will do it and and you will.

Comments about oreilly Photoshop Elements 10: The Missing Manual:

I think that I pick up software pretty easily. Didn't find Photoshop easy so I bought this book. It hasn't helped very much. It is far too heavy for me.

Comments about oreilly Photoshop Elements 10: The Missing Manual:

I think one needs to be an expert in Photoshop Elements to read this book.
Too much information and too hard to find what you're looking for.
