Comments about oreilly Dreamweaver CS6: The Missing Manual:

I tried two other less expensive books on Dreamweaver before plunking down the dough for this one. I wish I had bought this one first, as I could have saved money in the long run.

Yes, the text is a bit dense in this book. But once I got over the idea that I needed tons of colorful screen shots to learn something, I was able to focus on the excellent documentation. In fact, one of the books I bought first was a "visual guide" that just didn't have the level of documentation I needed.

Also, the book is organized in a way that works well for me, unlike the others I tried.

Comments about oreilly Dreamweaver CS6: The Missing Manual:

Format is unhelpful. Difficult to find information without reading every page, which is another problem - ink does not contrast well with background. Hard to find where exercises start. Step by step instructions are not well delineated. Easy to miss a step and then hard to recover from the resulting errors. On top of which there are errors in the text. Up to the reader to resolve.

Essentially a textbook for people who enjoy reading textbooks, not for people who want to answer a particular question.

This is one of my favorite textbooks that I require. Sadly no teaching material to accompany this book but quite easy to supplement with your own ideas.
