Comments about oreilly C# 5.0 in a Nutshell, 5th Edition:

I received a PDF copy of this book free as part of the O'Reilly Blogger Review Program.

This is a very solid and well written book which at 1000 pages is extremely comprehensive. It covers just about everything you can think of relating to C# and provides examples to help you understand. If you are after a comprehensive desk reference for C# this is one of the better ones around.

My only issue was that time and time again I found myself avoiding the book and searching online for quick solutions.

Comments about oreilly C# 5.0 in a Nutshell, 5th Edition:

I bought this product because I needed to speed up with my knowledge in C#. I've been developing in .NET web technologies for several years, but there were a lot of things that I didn't know that I learned with this book. The part of having the examples already set up in LinqPad is great, because it is a lot easier to understand whatever you're reading

Comments about oreilly C# 5.0 in a Nutshell, 5th Edition:

C# 5.0 in a Nutshell, by Joseph Albahari and Ben Albahari, is a comprehensive guide to everything you need to know about the C# programming language. It serves as a one-stop reference to learning the fundamentals of C#, understanding the underlying framework, and mastering the advanced capabilities of the C# programming language.

For developers new to the .NET Framework that are looking to focus on development areas such as WCF services or ASP.NET web application development, you will need a supplement book to gain that foundation. This book focuses solely on the intricacies of .NET, the CLR, and C#.

Areas that are covered include threading, security, native and COM interoperability, reflection and dynamic programming, to name a few. That list barely scratches the surface of the vast array of topics that are covered across 1062 pages.

This book is a must-have reference for any developer looking to learn and master C# development.

The eBook format of this book was provided free through O'Reilly's Blogger Review program.

Comments about oreilly C# 5.0 in a Nutshell, 5th Edition:

I was very curious about „C# 5.0 in a nutshell". I was afraid that this will be just a copy, paste from MSDN with little comment about what's happening in a code- it isn't. In fact in my opinion this is one of the best books about C# for programmers. It's a great reference for people who want to improve their skills and review some parts of C# language. In my opinion this book is not the choice for absolute beginners . But it is really good choice for people with some experience. I enjoyed advanced topics like unsafe code and type variance, parallel programming or modern asynchronous programming techniques which is new thing in C# 5.0.

One of the best things about „C# 5.0 in a nutshell" is that it is friendly to both sequential and random reading. It is important because this book has 1066 pages of pure knowledge. It's organized around concepts and use cases. I like that is very precise and technically rigorous.

This book is also a deep dive into LINQ- three chapters (131 pages) cover only this topic. It has plenty of code samples and interesting comments explaining how things work and why and where you should be cautions using some approaches.

I recommend this book to everyone who calls himself a C# programmer.
