Very good for beginners in D3 - i also like the easy going way of explaining - sometimes it's hard to understand for foreigners where the teaching ends and the joke begins, but that will keep you awake;)

Comments about oreilly Interactive Data Visualization for the Web:

This book give great insight and a good start for people just beginning with D3. The examples are great and ramp up in difficulty over time. The only thing not so great is that it ends to early! Also, maybe some more adventures examples could be given. Charts and graphs are just one application of D3.

Comments about oreilly Interactive Data Visualization for the Web:

I have had this book for quite a few months now and I didn't think I'd want to leave a review but I can see others have taken the time so here I go.

I have done some web development in the past and only recently picked up some HTML 5 books and now this book. I find it well constructed as I said int he title and well written.

However, at times, I found it difficult to follow. I don't think it's the style of writing. It's just that sometimes the material is deep and I find myself lost. I suggest that the author make the style of writing a bit more easy to follow, that's the only thing I would suggest for the next edition of this book.

I wasn't able to open the Chapter 12 sample code in the latest version of Google Chrome... All other sample code worked great in Chrome. Besides that I found this to be a great book for a beginner.

Comments about oreilly Interactive Data Visualization for the Web:

An awesome look into the visual power of D3

My only complaint is that they should have titled the book after the d3 library, since that is the entirety of its focus.

The data-join model can be a bit confusing when starting out, and this publication helps greatly to adopt a real understanding of it and get down to the fun of visualizing data in novel ways.
