Comments about oreilly Programming Android, 3rd Edition:

This is a good Android book. Detailed, lots of examples and a focus on proper best practices approach to completing tasks. Recommended! Probably not best for an absolute beginner.

However, I do have a few nagging quibbles that irritate me. The font used is too small. I needed to buy the PDF version just to comfortably read the book! The writing is mediocre at best. As with all books with multiple authors, Its hard to assign blame or credit for the writing. Sadly, as with so many technology books, weak writing combines with complex subject matter to make learning more of chore than necessary.
