This book was great for what I needed.
If you are only slightly familiar with the inner workings of Quickbooks, or an Old Pro there is lots of good information within this tome which will only improve your use and understanding of the Quickbooks program.

Comments about oreilly QuickBooks 2014: The Missing Manual:

I read the book from cover to cover, skipping only what did not pertain to my business or my version of Quick Books. I found it a very valuable resource since QB has changed a lot since I last used it. The program is the same in ease of use however. I am very pleased with the book, it was very helpful and written with a sense of humor!. I would like to see in the book at the beginning the installation instructions (I found them on page 739)followed by a very specific list of what to do in what order. (I did find a brief list on page 476) I felt the book hopped around a bit on that score. I am very glad that I bought the book.

Comments about oreilly QuickBooks 2014: The Missing Manual:

Be aware that this book is based on QuickBooks Pro, so if you are a user of some other QuickBooks version this manual may not cover some of your issues. Many of the screens in other versions of QuickBooks do not look like the illustrations in this manual for that reason. I use QuickBooks Online and I was actually steered to this book by QuickBooks Online so I bought it thinking it was for QuickBooks Online. Still, it is better than nothing and nothing is what you get from Intuit. I am keeping it in the hope it will at least steer me in the right direction when it does not specifically address my issue.

Comments about oreilly QuickBooks 2014: The Missing Manual:

I was looking at the moment for more useful coverage of journal entries - and I found it in the book - and for more useful explanations for working with Quickbooks Web Connector - and unfortunately found that it wasn't covered at all.

Comments about oreilly QuickBooks 2014: The Missing Manual:

Need more information about pos import issue. Or cover the pos basics. The manual was very good as a basic understanding. Would like a follow up book with more details or expand on the basics. Also there is a great need for a manual for the POS system and set up accounts to transfer data correctly. It cost quite a bit to fix these issues.

Comments about oreilly QuickBooks 2014: The Missing Manual:

The book is good, but it's sort of a "batteries not included" thing - why would Intuit sell something that is almost useless without a manual, without a manual? Not throwing rocks at O'reilly, who have a good book, but Intuit, who sold me a car with no tires.
