Comments about oreilly Hands-On Programming with R:

I have tried online courses and other introductory books. The online course was very difficult to follow. In contrast Garret's book has easy to follow steps. It made me feel good about myself as a programmer for the first time since trying to learn this language. I was actually able to complete most of the exercises based on knowledge already provided in the book.

Comments about oreilly Hands-On Programming with R:

This is an excellent book for learning the language in a useful way. I expect to have my students use the book in my classes in the Spring (2015). The only downer is the lack of availability of the code, but that does not in any way detract from the value of the book.

Comments about oreilly Hands-On Programming with R:

How to solve the logistical problems of data science and how to write our own functions and simulations with R. This book gives you all about that.
Learn with projects (Weighted Dice, Playing Cards, Slot Machine) and Appendix A-E will help to install/update R and R packages as well as loading Data and debugging in R code.

Easy to read, if readers have some basic about R. Readers will enjoy with projects.
