Comments about oreilly The Maker's Manual:

If you are looking for help to you get from the seed of an idea to actual production, this is a good guide. It does not go into great depth on every aspect of bringing a product (or, as the authors call it, an artifact) to market, but it does let you know how to use many of the tools you are likely to encounter in your quest to be a successful maker.

I bought this book to be read on my Kindle, but the size of the Kindle file (175 MB) made it impractical to transfer via my normal method which is to email the file to the device. Instead I read the .epub version which had the pictures poorly formatted (at least for my device). Only half of each picture appeared on screen and the rest trailed off to the right of the screen. But I looked at the PDF version of the file when I really thought a picture might be important.
