Comments about oreilly An Introduction to d3.js: From Scattered to Scatterplot:

Well presented, simple examples. Would have liked some more advanced examples and maybe connecting the visualization to a database. Otherwise, great training for someone new to D3.

Comments about oreilly An Introduction to d3.js: From Scattered to Scatterplot:

I have been looking at Data Driven Document examples and d3.js code postings with lots of excitement and amazement for more than a year, but never found the right place to simply start doing it myself. I watched the free introduction and had to have more. Getting an informative, well-organized, example-driven introduction to the key concepts was of great value to me. I was working on my own visualizations with new found confidence within a day. If you have some programming experience and little prior experience with JavaScript and CSS, I would highly recommend this video.

Comments about oreilly An Introduction to d3.js: From Scattered to Scatterplot:

In an afternoon you will feel ready and inspired to jump into the amazing D3 data visualization world.

I now feel more comfortable with applying and altering D3 code to create interactive web pages with data driven graphics. Only thing missing is a sequel with more examples and more advanced visualizations.

Comments about oreilly An Introduction to d3.js: From Scattered to Scatterplot:

Not a lot of information packed in the video to be priced this high. Gives a good quick start to web development basics that make it easier to understand d3 concepts. Needs to pack more information to be worth the price.

Comments about oreilly An Introduction to d3.js: From Scattered to Scatterplot:

I'm a designer, I know my way around HTML & CSS, less so around Javascript. For quite some time I've been trying to find a way to bypass the D3.js learning curve. Scott clearly not only knows his way around D3.js, he knows how to teach it. He wrote the book, he's been leading workshops, and he invested his experience into this video tutorial. Now I have the right knowledge to take advantage the thousands of d3.js code examples out there. Thanks!
