This book was very useful for structuring my study time and setting me up for a pass on the PMP. I had considered a prep course which would have cost hundreds of dollars and decided to try on my own with this book when I saw the good reviews. http://blog.ejly.net/2008/05/200-quick-and-easy-steps-to-passing-pmp.html for my blog on the exam

Comments about O'Reilly Media Head First PMP, 2nd Edition:

I'm going through a training class that has done a good job creating a more graphical version than the PMBOK. It's good, but this book is better. I'm in the middle of placing my order. This is the best supported - easy into the brain reference I've seen. Authors did a good job at organizing the materials to pull things together in a format that goes into the brain easier.

Good work. Thanks for the browsable content - if I couldn't have previewed what I did - I would have been leery. After skimming around - it was a no brainer decision.

It is nice book, but communication chapter is messed up. It is not synching with PMBOK 4. Compare Page 244 in PMBOK and Page 498 & 499 in Head First PMP 2nd edition. It is not matching. You will understand.HFP is moved Manage Stakeholder Expectations to Monitoring& Controlling process group, but it should be in Execution process group. But Still I recommend.

Comments about O'Reilly Media Head First PMP, 2nd Edition:

This book makes a dry subject interesting to read. However, there are numerous spelling errors. And there are errors to the answers in the quizes. And on page 686 the entire crossword puzzle is the wrong solution. Considering the topic of the book, you would expect that there would be NO ERRORS. It appears as if the writers did not follow their own subject. So it does give the reader reason to not trust the content of the book because of the sloppy results. The publisher should have a page on the website correcting the errors that the reader can download. Especially considering the cost of the book.

I am using this book to prepare for PMP cert. The book has many syntax errors, which is surprising for a 2nd edition, but foregiveable. However, I am finding errors in the content that have caused me to lose all confidence in continuing...

Page 114 The Business Case document is one of the tools & techniques from Develop Project Charter.
Page 135 PMIS is an Input/Output
Page 147 Validated defect repair is an output of PICC. Is it? I have spent 30 minutes checking and I would say it is from QC only? But now I really don't know.

Lot of sloppy work in here. How effective can a Learner's Companion be if you can't trust it?

I like the book very much and happy that I purchased it. Started to ready it now and it is fun.

I found a little "error": on page 66 you write "42 processes" but in the box you move on with "fourty-four". Where can I address (in case I find something again) such issues?

In the communication Management chapter of the book,"Manage stakeholder expectations " is defined as Monitoring and control process, whereas actually it is Executing Process as per PMBOK version 4.Please check and give feedback.
