Comments about oreilly Unmasking the Social Engineer:

I thought the book was very thoughtfully put together, and a very good read.

In the previous book I found there was almost too much information presented, and in this book the subject matter was a lot tighter and precise. You are given links and other authors to read which is always a perk when one of the items strikes your interest.

I learned a lot about the nonverbal aspect of human interaction through anecdotes and research. The first couple of chapters were a little dull, mostly explaining the origin of his research material and an overview of the book, but the subject matter was well worth the wait.

I strongly recommend this book to every single person who ever needs to interact with another Human, as much of the material included gives you a decided advantage to truly understanding the other person, or group of people. Social engineering students will find the information even more useful, in ways to understand the person you are approaching and trying to gain information from.

The only adjustment I would have made to the book was to cover more of the negative interactions, so the security personnel out there can better design their defense plan. On the flip side, I love that one of his beliefs is to leave a person better off than when they may you, a good life lesson for everyone.

Comments about oreilly Unmasking the Social Engineer:

Paul Ekman has contributed to mankind in a wonderful way, I was excited to see some more from this giant. This book is an excellent combination of the Face coding and other ways human express themselves. Christopher adds nicely to Ekman's lifetime of accomplishments.
