Comments about oreilly Beginning HTML5 and CSS3 For Dummies:

If you want to see what web pages fundamentals - html and css - are about, this is an excellent book. And understand what other things can come out necessary in a web page construction later on.

Book guides you smoothly through the subjects. There's learning too for not beginners to enjoy as well.

Although with a text editor you're set to practice most of what book explains, book names useful applications and tools you can get or use, and example files.
