Comments about O'Reilly Media UNIX in a Nutshell, 3rd Edition:

My number 1 reference book for anything Unix related. The book could use an update though. But 600+ pages with nothing but useful information.

Comments about O'Reilly Media UNIX in a Nutshell, 3rd Edition:

This is a great UNIX reference book. Commands are easy to look up and explained in enough detail to determine if it's what you are looking for. Very useful for looking up various switches for common UNIX utilities.

UNIX in a Nutshell: System V Edition, 3rd Edition Review

Comments about O'Reilly Media UNIX in a Nutshell, 3rd Edition:

Just an aspiring sysadmin, but I can recognise greatness when I see it. I never knew the greatness of awk or sed before reading this; it's an incredibly valuable reference for this budding shell programmer; it teaches me commands like tee and nohup that would have me reinventing the wheel without them. Recommended, believe it.

I am now blessing your tarsier...

Hello out there in IT land, this is very informative book. Short and to the point, the way a computer book should be!!

Great for anyone who needs a quick reference, or just want to sharpen their UNIX skills

UNIX in a Nutshell: System V Edition, 3rd Edition Review

Comments about O'Reilly Media UNIX in a Nutshell, 3rd Edition:

A very good refence guide. So good in fact that my original copy was 'borrowed'. Worth keeping to hand, especially if you do a lot of scripting.

The book is well laid out and easy to follow. Just a shame not every command is covered.

Well done but I missed the 'mount'-command. Forgot it?

Comments about O'Reilly Media UNIX in a Nutshell, 3rd Edition:

I have been using Unix for over a decade and have never found a better and more concise guide. No matter how much I try to memorize, there is still more to learn. I have recommended this to dozens of coworkers and have yet to receive unhappy results. Like the Amex card, 'never leave home without it.'!
