Comments about oreilly The Best Teacher in You:

I work in IT as a desktop support analyst, and part of my job is educating end users how to perform tasks.
While this book wasn't specifically designed for this use case, I thought it might be a way to improve my skills.

The book suggestions a quadrant system break down for all forms of education. The author suggests that becoming a better teacher involves improving skills in all areas. To highlight this goal, we are taken through multiple scenarios of highly effective teachers in a school district, and how they utilize this quadrant system to positively effect their class room.

I find the scenarios very thought provoking, I spent more time thinking about how the instructor improved then actually reading the scenario. I personally believe this is a great way to educate the reader. I think that more scenarios would have been a better way to go, with less analysis from the author.

The book also includes a guide for determining where your strengths and areas to improve upon are, fitting into this quadrant system.

Everything that was mentioned seems very common sense, but when you have the opportunity to go through the ideas in depth with the examples, it feels a little more useful and in depth.

My other complaint was that the entire book felt like it was advertising itself, or a course you could send away for (This isn't actually the case). I chalk it up to writer style more than anything, but it can be a little distracting.
