Best Uses

    While the description of this book (and the front cover) consistently advertise the cross platform capabilities of Cocos2d-x, the book itself does not utilize these capabilities, and only uses Mac tools for development. Windows developers are out of luck getting help configuring the tool-chain (the Cocos2d-x wiki is apparently out of date in this regard, and very short on info for other Linux IDEs).

    Personally, I'm left feeling a bit lead-on by the description here, and it really should have been more specific on the development tools point (and, perhaps, I should have done a bit more research). However, I'm hopeful that I'll still get some mileage out of this book as soon as I can get the Windows/Linux tool chain sorted out. We'll see how the text translates for Windows/Linux users (or I may just have to emulate Mac on my Windows machine).
