Comments about oreilly Getting Started with Flurry Analytics:

This is a short focused book on the Flurry analytic system, and how you can use the data from that to help make business decisions. The book is broken into two sections, one on the Flurry API, and one on how to use the information you can get from it.

The API sections is the first two chapters. This is honestly the information I was looking for in this book. The tasks described also have code examples showing how to do things such as track time spent per screen, flag different events, and use start and end events to time various tasks. One caution I would mention is that with iOS 7, Apple has made some major changes to how individual devices can be tracked. This is something that is briefly mentioned in the book, but the situation is still in flux regarding what Apple will and will not allow. The Flurry website has some more up to date information, and if you are planning on using any analytics tool, this is an area you will have to spend some time examining the details.

There is a chapter devoted to using Flurry for crash analysis. I have been using a separate tool for this, but is something I did not realize was possible with Flurry.

The remaining two chapters give several ideas of business and marketing information you can get from the analytics data. I have to admit that I was not looking for this information at all, however there are some valuable ideas, especially if you haven't spent much time thinking about how to get new users and where they might get stuck.

If all you are looking for is simply how to use the Flurry API, then I'm not sure there is much more information here than in the web documentation (this is why I only rated it as 4 stars), but if you haven't given much thought into *why* you want to collect analytics, then there are some good ideas to think about (why I rated as 4 stars instead of 3).
