The R language is a powerful open source functional programming language. At its core, R is a statistical programming language that provides impressive tools to analyze data and create high-level graphics.

This book covers the basics of R by setting up a user-friendly programming environment and performing data ETL in R. Data exploration examples are provided that demonstrate how powerful data visualization and machine learning is in discovering hidden relationships. You will then dive into important machine learning topics, including data classification, regression, clustering, association rule mining, and dimension reduction.

Comments about oreilly Machine Learning with R Cookbook:

"Machine Learning with R Cookbook" by Chiu Yu-Wei is nothing more or less than it purports to be: a collection of 110 recipes for applying Data Analysis and Machine Learning techniques in R. I was asked by the publishers to review this book and found it to be an interesting and informative read. It will not help you understand how Machine Learning works (that's not the goal!) but it will help you quickly learn how to apply Machine Learning techniques to you own problems.

Comments about oreilly Machine Learning with R Cookbook:

This book is a MUST-HAVE for R beginner. Easy to understand! With the help of this book, I was able to understand how R functions and could apply codes naturally. I suggest whoever buys this book to read from the beginning, because the book delivers basic lessons firstly then gradually move to those that might need some advanced skills. Worth buying it! Recommend it!

Comments about oreilly Machine Learning with R Cookbook:

The Machine Learning with R Cookbook should be on your bookshelf if you work with R.
The book is as self-described, a collection of machine learnig concepts and how to accomplish them in R (recipes).
This book is an introduction to practical machine learning problems and the author also touch some of the more complex topics:
k-nearest neighbours algorithm, random forest and SVM are introduced with real world data.
The book has a solid structure, it is not a tutorial on the R language, but is definitely recommended for novices.
I highly recommend it, particularly for developers who want to build their machine learning tools.
