Too many errors
Comments about oreilly PostGIS Essentials:
From beginning: At beginning book looks very comprehensible but this impression disappear and it's stronger from page to page... Unexplained parameters (-d, -g, etc.), the next steps (steps not say precisely what should be the behavior of the program) and a very general description spoils the merit of this book. Working with this book I spent five times more searching for additional information than working at a program. Also, program errors that followed because of insufficiently explained the next steps ... I do not know if this book is worth that price. If author will fix that errors, this book will become a best guide for PostGIS ;D
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
