Comments about oreilly Processing 2: Creative Programming Cookbook:

After working through the first few chapters of *Getting Started with Processing* (O'Reilly), I was able to jump right into the chapter in THIS book on working with data. I have been learning HTML, XML, and XSLT for about two months, and before that, I only had some minor experience with scripting, mainly for SAS calculations and plotting.

I would give it five stars, but the code sometimes has an odd hyphen here and there. I am using the epub version, but these appear to be line-breaking-word-hyphens in the middle of the code, and so are most likely in the print version, too.
