Comments about oreilly Unity Android Game Development by Example Beginner's Guide:

This book is a must have for anyone who wants to develop games for Android platform without any prior experience of unity and android.
Everything from downloading the software to setting up your android device for testing has been explained step by step along with images.
The best thing for me is the game examples covered in this book which forms the basics of most of the successful games on the market. Each & every bit of code has been explained along with the images.
A dedicated chapter to particle effects is what has been missing in other unity books but is covered in proper detail in this book.
Even if you want to develop 2d games with unity 4.3 this book will help
you out and you can apply it to 2d games as well and use all the features and sensors of android phones in your game.

Comments about oreilly Unity Android Game Development by Example Beginner's Guide:

"Unity Android Game Development by Example Beginner's Guide" written by Thomas Finnegan is accessible book that gives a good introduction even to complete beginners for the process of creating games in Unity for Android.

The book was made in an interesting way that each chapter directly continues to what we learned in the previous enriched with illustrations and screenshots that guide reader and help in verifying that reader is progressing in the manner and speed as it was intended. Although I come from the IT world, I had not had any experience with Unity3D, therefore it was interesting to see whether the book really rightly bears the name that is for beginners - and I am pleased to say that it is so.

From the first chapters it's obvious that author made this book for someone completely new in this development so if you're already at more advanced levels of knowledge you can feel free to skip the first few chapters. After going through its more than 300 pages, reader/developer will get a solid amount of knowledge that will enable him/her to understand not only the basics but also more advanced levels of development in Unity3D for the Android.

It's great that the author has offered three complete projects on which it is possible to improve your knowledge due to the detailed explanation and nicely presented examples. And also nice add-on was explanation of some major differences between the Unity3D free and pro version so that the user can decide which version will be needed.

Therefore, this book could be fully recommended to people interested in games development on Android providing good foundation for further development of programming skills.
