Comments about oreilly Prototyping Essentials with Axure, 2nd Edition:

I liked reading through the first chapter which I find will either turn me away from the book or continue reading because I've grown interested in the material. The first chapter caught my attention because it has a risk / opportunity setup, and I always look at challenges with a similar mindset. I do have a heavy background in development, specifically web services and console applications. So I'm not completely new to the concepts and practices deployed in this book, but I am rather new to Axure. I felt the book did Axure justice and I can see why it is the de facto standard in the industry for creating successful prototypes.

The rest of the book was well organized as you are walked along learning the various aspects of Axure, at times I felt some information could have been skipped, and others that I wish it would continue to go on for a bit longer. For those sections I just go back and read over them again until I have a full understanding before moving forward, just how I tackle other books I've had to digest and put into practice.

I really liked how the Author clearly identifies CSS standards with Axure conventions, I also liked how they decided to use PNG and I had no idea that Axure could slice a website apart like I've done in the past with Gimp. It was also fun to see the publishers website used in the examples! Finally I felt it was very important to mention the team based focus, and the attention paid to setting expectations. Two things that are extremely important in the "Real World" along with staying consistent. I highly recommend this book!
