Comments about oreilly Mastering the Nikon D800:

This book is great for those who own a Nikon D800 or Nikon D800E. The book itself explains how to use both camera's in a very easy to read way. It goes far beyond just using the D800 and is set out beautifully.

For those who want to setup their camera different to the custom settings within the camera this book gives recommendations that may or may not be different to the custom settings within the camera.

For myself one of the main reasons I wanted to purchased this book but ended up being given it to review was to learn how to use the "movie mode" within the camera, as I had never shot movies before. The book certainly helped me get a better understanding of using this feature.

For those who are not familiar with the terms associated with a DSLR camera, example "white balance", it explains these in layman's terms.

I can't find anything against the way this book has been written and I would highly recommend it.

If this were your first DSLR camera, you don't know how to use a DSLR or if you don't own a DSLR as yet, I would also recommend a book by the same author called "Beyond Point-and-Shoot" which teaches you how to use a DSLR camera in layman's terms.
